SOLD OUT:

A Transformative Reunion

The LEARN Institute is an advanced in-person experience where professionals tackle the most pressing issues facing their work in early childhood education and infant and early childhood mental health.

Choose Your Track

Select from four different learning tracks that bring participants together into focused learning cohorts. You will be able to choose your cohort during the registration process.

Track 1: Explore the most challenging conversations we have with families—from “simply” behavioral to the most complex of all to create deeper and more authentic connections.

Track 2: Tackle the multiple challenges to our well-being that have been amplified in our trying times and understand the strategies and tools we can use to assess, address, and sustain professional resilience for ourselves and those we support.

Track 3: Focus on how we embrace Jeree Pawl’s famous saying, “HOW We Are Is as Important as WHAT We Do” with an emphasis on advancing reflective practice and equity within your organization and community.

Track 4: Dig deep into foundational psychoanalytic concepts with the challenge of grounding them in today’s sociocultural context–particularly with a focus on advancing equity and embracing diversity.

Plenary Presenters

Dr. Eduardo Duran (Tiospaye Ta Woapiye Wicasa), PhD, Author of Healing the Soul Wound, Budha in Redface, and Native American Postcolonial Psychology; Psychologist; Healer; Teacher; Storyteller; Special Operations, U.S. Navy veteran

Explore historical trauma theory from both Traditional and Western perspectives with Dr. Duran.  Hear his wonderings about the application of compassion in relationships, and insights from indigenous frameworks for psychological and social challenges, particularly related to the impact of the pandemic and current opportunities to improve practice and systems for young children and families. Contemplate his messages on trauma and approaching early childhood work from a multi-cultural social justice perspective throughout his talk, and in additional discussion in your cohort’s afternoon session.

COVID Policy

We will implement the following guidelines for all ZERO TO THREE in-person events:

ZERO TO THREE’s number one priority is the health and safety of our event participants, staff and vendors. Our goal is to hold a safe event, recognizing it is not possible to remove all risks, in particular concerning COVID. ZERO TO THREE will put required measures in place to provide a safe environment for its event attendees. Policies for each event will be set according to CDC and public health recommendations, federal, state, and local regulations applicable at the time of the event, and what ZERO TO THREE deems necessary to manage the risk for its event attendees. ZERO TO THREE may change, update, or add to these requirements at any time as it deems prudent to best protect the health and safety of attendees and others, and attendees must comply with relevant policies and requirements as communicated by ZERO TO THREE.

ZERO TO THREE cannot be held liable for COVID cases arising because of event attendance and currently requires of all attendees at ZERO TO THREE in-person meetings and events:

  1. A signed Waiver and Acknowledgement of Personal Responsibility
  2. Mask wearing is strongly encouraged but optional

Requirements for in-person attendees:

  • Attendees will be expected to take common sense actions to reduce the risk of COVID transmission and to behave responsibly (including leaving the event area) in case of exposure to a COVID case or if experiencing symptoms.
    • In such case, attendees should seek appropriate medical attention, including a COVID test, and immediately inform ZERO TO THREE event staff should a COVID test be positive during the event or in the 14 days following the event.
  • Protect yourself with frequent hand washing/sanitizing and minimizing face touching.

Failure to comply with all safety protocols and requirements as listed above or related directions from ZERO TO THREE representatives on-site may result in the loss of the right to attend or participate in ZERO TO THREE events, including forfeiting any registration fees paid.

What should I do before I arrive?

  1. (REQUIRED) Read and sign the Waiver and Acknowledgement of Personal Responsibility on eLearn.
  2. Bring a mask; while it is not required, you may want to wear a mask while indoors when you are not eating or drinking. ZERO TO THREE will not be providing masks on site.
  3. Bring COVID home test(s). ZERO TO THREE will not be providing testing on site.

Waiver and Acknowledgement of Personal Responsibility (“Waiver”)

  • I understand that travel and gathering involves risk of sickness, including sickness from COVID. I (and on behalf of my guest(s)) waive and release ZERO TO THREE and its alliance partners/industry partners, and their employees and agents, from and against claims, liabilities and expenses arising from injury, sickness or death from contraction or spread of COVID or other communicable disease due to travel to or attendance at an event hosted by ZERO TO THREE.

  • I will take any precautions necessary and appropriate to my personal level of risk while at the event including, but not limited to, engaging in social distancing, wearing a mask in public areas when not consuming food or beverage, minimizing face touching, frequently washing my hands and avoiding risky environments such as overcrowded bars or restaurants.

  • I agree to not attend any ZERO TO THREE event if I feel ill or had recent exposure to COVID.

  • I affirm that I am fully vaccinated against COVID and/or will only attend the event if I have tested negative for COVID on the day I arrive.

This Waiver is binding on me and my heirs and successors.
